Together with the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Bulgarien) and with the support of Aurubis Bulgaria UN Global Compact Network Bulgaria is organizing a conference on „Sustainable Future: Innovations for Decarbonization„, a dynamic event dedicated to exploring the most cutting-edge innovations and strategies driving the global transition to a carbon-neutral world.

Industry leaders, institutions and sustainability experts will gather to discuss breakthrough technologies, actionable decarbonization solutions, and the role of finance in supporting a greener economy.

keynote speaker – Marcel Engel, the Executive Director of UN Global Compact Germany.

With more than 1300  participants, the network of responsible business in Germany is one of the largest in Europe. 1275 companies ranging from DAX-listed firms to medium-sized businesses and SMEs, and nearly 60 representatives from civil society, academia, and politics work together to initiate change processes in companies and strategically embed sustainability.

Before spearheading the sustainable efforts of the german business Marcel held various senior-level positions at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), a CEO-led business association of 200 leading global companies. As a member of its Executive Management Team, he was, among others, responsible for WBCSD´s Global Network of partner organizations as well as the Development and Social Capital Focus Areas. His earlier professional experience includes an engagement as professional officer at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Mexico. Marcel holds degrees in international relations and development studies from the University of Constance and The London School of Economics, as well as Swiss Hotel Management diploma.
